New Cricut

Hello world.  I recently received a Cricut from my wonderful mother, so you're in for a world of fun.  Unfortunately, my camera bit the dust, sooooo, the photos for a while will leave something to be desired.

I pulled out a box of old photos- this is a layout I made with an old photo of my mom with me in the backpack.  Also, I have no idea how to turn this the right way up.  Help?

#3 Aloha

I recently went to Hawaii to visit my Grandparents for a long weekend.  As you can imagine, it was beautiful, relaxing, warm, and full of delicious food. So, I thought I would make them a thank you card.  I tried to go somewhat tropical themed, so I picked the pink flowers and the waves.  I heat embossed the thank you and framed the opening with a coral box.  I like how it turned out...

This Card qualifies for the EAD color challenge:

And just for good measure, here's the view from their porch:

#2- Fun with ghandi

My next card is brought to you by the colors blue, green, and brown.  I decided to use the flower paper, then the brown polkadot paper for the envelope, and then I spent an absurdly long time brainstorming everything out.  All was going well until it came to inking the cuttlebugged flowers, where it all fell apart a bit.  I definitely should not be pointing that out.  Anyway, I liked the sentiment a lot. In my job I spend a ridiculous amount of time rushing around and trying to get ahead, so I thought the sentiment was a good reminder to relax a little bit.

The Washi tape is from: http://torendi.net/torendi/home.html
The sentiment is from: http://eaddesigns.com/
The flowers were Cuttlebugged
The white dots were from Imaginisce

EDIT:  I totally failed to mention that this was for the Artful Delight sketch challenge:

Hello world- post numero uno.

This is my first post.  I crafted with Courtney and made the following.  I like it, primarily because I like to overuse pastels.  I also LOVE the tag, which I wasn't originally planning on making.  I'm not really sure to whom you send a card like this... it's kind of an, I am woman, hear me roar type thing, which I find inspiring, but seems a little imposing to actually sent to someone, no?  I mean, if someone's having a rough time, you can't really send them a card that says, bring on the rain, I have an umbrella, because if you're going through the trouble to send them a card, chances are they're not skating through.  that being said, I've never been particularly skilled at TLC, so I guess a buck-up card is right down my alley.  Plus, the pastels at least give it an illusion of being sweet, no?

I did this for challenges, obviously.  These ones:

My Pink Stamper-Bird
2sketches4you- Sketch
weememories- Challenge number 24- Tag
Cuttlebug challenge- Bows and buttons
Off the wall craftiness- color challenge (pink, yellow, green, blue)
